As momentum on health care reform increases, the issue of comparative effectiveness research has been the subject of much attention.  The Obama Administration made it a priority and budgeted $1.1 billion to compare drugs, medical devices, surgery and other ways of treating specific conditions. It also remains a serious concern to many as a potential means of rationing care.  The outcome of this debate will have undeniable impact on pharmaceutical and life-science companies, patients, and physicians.
